Life Transitions Center

For more than 30 years, the work of Life Transitions Center has focused on providing counseling, information, support, and resources to anyone concerned about issues related to loss, grief, death, and living with a life-threatening illness. Programs are available for adults, children, and families. It is the Center's goal to ensure that no one who is grieving or living with a serious illness will have to struggle alone.

Information about counseling, support groups, educational programs or other services are available by calling the Life Transitions Center at 836-6460, or by contacting us.

Life Transitions Center is located at The Mary & Ralph C. Wilson Counseling Center, 150 Bennett Road, Cheektowaga, NY.

GRIEF AND THE HOLIDAYS: The holidays are traditionally a time of joy and laughter. But for people who are grieving, or for those with a seriously ill loved one, the holidays can be a time of mixed emotions. As the holidays approach, it is important to think about how you can deal with the extra demands of the season.

WRITING THE STORY OF YOUR LIFE: Join us in a Guided Autobiography Workshop. Our lives may seem to be a series of random incidents but they're so much more - each has a plot. Writing a guided autobiography focused on central themes can give new meaning to our present and future because it helps us to understand the past more fully.

Women and men of all ages appreciate the insight and personal discovery a Guided Autobiography Workshop provides. The process is especially helpful for people seeking new direction in life. The workshop consists of six two-hour sessions. Each meeting will provide materials, instruction, inspiration, time to share and remember, and a better understanding of the past.
